(SeaPRwire) –   A Fresh Framework for Low-Carbon Cross-Continental Freight Takes Root

RABAT, Morocco, April 7, 2026 — Gotion, Green Power Morocco (GPM), and Chery Heavy Trucks have signed a formal agreement to develop a heavy-duty electric logistics corridor between Morocco and France, advancing low-emission cross-continental freight operations.

The 2,000-kilometer route links Agadir in southern Morocco, passing through the Port of Tangier, to Perpignan in southern France, which currently handles roughly 2,000 heavy-duty trucks each day. The partnering firms will roll out electric trucks and supporting infrastructure incrementally to lower emission levels along this critical trade thoroughfare.

Scalable Partnership Model

Gotion and GPM will establish a joint venture to manage electric vehicle fleets, battery-swapping stations, intelligent dispatching systems, and energy storage facilities. The initial deployment will include 100 heavy-duty electric trucks fitted with Gotion battery systems, with further expansion contingent on performance metrics and infrastructure readiness. Chery will bring its commercial vehicle engineering and manufacturing expertise to the collaboration.

Charging & Swapping Innovation

A battery-swapping solution is currently in development to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency for heavy-duty trucks, supported by ongoing work on battery standardization and lifecycle management practices.

Lower-Emission Trade Corridors

This project integrates electrification, energy infrastructure, and digital logistics to create a scalable model for cutting freight-related emissions. No carbon neutrality claims are being made at this stage; any future environmental performance assertions will require verified data and official certification.

Phil Jenkins, CEO of GPM Holding, shared: “This partnership combines Gotion’s battery technology with Chery’s manufacturing capabilities to develop tailored electric logistics solutions suited to regional requirements. Morocco’s logistics industry boasts significant long-term growth potential.”

Li Zhen, Chairman of Gotion High-Tech, commented: “This represents a key milestone in expanding the application scenarios for our battery technologies, supporting viable, scalable low-emission freight transport solutions.”
