DUBAI, UAE, June 30, 2025 — Leading global tire manufacturer Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) took part in Mobility Live Middle East 2025, the region’s foremost mobility exhibition, which occurred from June 24 to 25 at the Dubai World Trade Centre within the United Arab Emirates.

Mobility Live Middle East 2025 stands as the region’s most extensive mobility exhibition, focusing on the future of transport, encompassing electric vehicles, intelligent infrastructure, and eco-friendly public transportation. The event this year gathered over 10,000 specialists, 1,000 top-tier buyers, and more than 250 exhibiting brands, providing valuable perspectives on upcoming market developments.
Participating for the second year in a row, Hankook Tire solidified its prominent position in advanced EV tire technology. At its exhibition stand, the company presented its high-quality EV product range, specifically designed for driving conditions in the Middle East. Among the highlighted products was the ‘iON’ brand—billed as the globe’s inaugural comprehensive series of tires solely for EVs—which consists of the high-performance ‘iON evo,’ the ‘iON GT’ summer tire, and the ‘e-SMART City AU56’ intended for electric buses.
Notably, the iON evo received acclaim for its exceptional braking and handling capabilities, achieving the highest position in a recent tire comparison assessment performed by Auto Bild, a prominent automotive publication in Germany. The iON GT also incorporates leading proportions of sustainable components, validated by ISCC PLUS certification.
The e-SMART City AU56, which is a truck and bus radial (TBR) tire, provides enhanced mileage efficiency when compared to earlier versions. It integrates sophisticated tread block technology to ensure better grip and prolonged tread durability.
“Hankook Tire is consistently boosting its premium brand recognition and growing its influence within the Middle Eastern EV tire sector through various strategic efforts,” stated Jongwoo Kim, who heads Hankook Tire’s Middle East & Asia Division. “Mobility Live offered an outstanding venue to display the ingenuity behind our ‘iON’ brand, which spearheads sustainability in the evolving mobility industry by utilizing advanced environmentally friendly materials.” He further mentioned, “Our involvement in Mobility Live underscores our dedication to aiding the region’s shift towards clean mobility, aligning with the UAE’s objective to hasten EV adoption and its wider sustainability targets under the UAE Net Zero 2050 strategy. Furthermore, we are examining the Vision 2030 roadmaps established by each ESG steering committee to reassess our current standing and formulate an updated mid- to long-term strategy for the coming ten years.”
The ‘iON’ brand, developed with Hankook Tire’s iON INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY, provides peak performance for high-performance electric vehicles by harmonizing four essential characteristics: remarkable energy efficiency, excellent grip, diminished noise, and minimal rolling resistance.
