Helly Hansen Partners with Germany SailGP Team for Season 5

OSLO, Norway, Oct. 30, 2024 — Helly Hansen, a leading global sailing brand, and the Germany SailGP Team have announced a partnership for SailGP Season 5 in 2024-25. As the team’s Official Clothing Supplier, Helly Hansen will provide high-performance gear as they compete in one of the most thrilling sailing races.

SailGP is a global event where national teams race in identical F50 catamarans, reaching speeds close to 100 km/h. The race takes place across iconic sailing locations worldwide in various weather conditions. Season 5 kicks off in Dubai in November 2024.

The German team made a strong debut in Season 4, with Olympian Erik Heil at the helm. The team includes experienced wing trimmer Stuart Bithell, flight controller James Wierzbowski, and reigning U21 World Champion in the 49er FX Anna Barth, who is the team’s strategist. The team boasts a renowned ownership team, comprising Thomas Riedel, president of Riedel Communications, and four-time F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel.
