(SeaPRwire) –   The installation of Teleste ICON intelligent amplifiers and the Argus NMS enhances network dependability, boosts operational oversight, and readies the infrastructure for the transition to DOCSIS 4.0.

TURKU, Finland, March 19, 2026Home Telecom has announced the finalization of a cable access network modernization effort undertaken with Teleste and Mega Hertz. This initiative reinforces Home Telecom’s network by implementing Teleste’s newest cable access technology—supplied, integrated, and backed by Mega Hertz—to enhance service dependability, streamline operations, and future-proof the network for upcoming capacity and performance needs.

Throughout North America, local broadband providers are updating their HFC networks to boost reliability, grow upstream and downstream bandwidth, and enhance the user experience. Home Telecom’s project aligns with this movement by integrating automation suited for field work, telemetry based on transponders, and contemporary management tools that facilitate preventative maintenance and effective problem resolution.

For the modernization, Home Telecom executed a high-split HFC enhancement utilizing Teleste’s ICON Series Intelligent Amplifiers and the Teleste Argus Network Management System (NMS). Both systems are built for smooth network progression, supporting a 1.8 GHz forward path and offering preparedness for deployments compatible with DOCSIS 4.0.

The solution prioritizes ease of use for technicians via interchangeable diplex filters and genuine plug-and-play automatic network alignment. A one-button automated alignment process speeds up installation and makes future split adjustments simpler.

To boost operational insight, the rollout includes optional transponders that provide remote telemetry, live monitoring, remote control functions, and sophisticated ingress detection and analysis. These features enable quicker problem identification and more preventative network upkeep. Furthermore, the ICON platform is engineered to provide strong performance while reducing energy use.

Home Telecom is also employing Teleste’s Argus Network Management System to consolidate oversight and control over the access network. Argus aims to lower operational intricacy while maintaining high service reliability via live monitoring, diagnostics, and remote administration, which includes a current web-based interface with an integrated map view available now.

Mega Hertz has assisted and will keep assisting Home Telecom as a value-added reseller and systems integrator, helping with solution planning, integration, deployment support, and operational preparedness—ensuring Home Telecom realizes all the advantages of intelligent amplification, automation, and consolidated network management.

“Dependable broadband service is founded in the access network, and our customers notice the impact when we invest in stability and proactive operations,” stated Connor Salisbury, Outside Plant Manager at Home Telecom. “Partnering with Teleste and Mega Hertz allows us to update our network with practical automation and enhanced visibility available now—enabling us to provide a more uniform customer experience as we continue to advance our network.”

“Regional providers are utilizing existing technology to maximize their existing HFC systems for delivering symmetrical gigabit services,” said Drew Kempen, EVP of Sales & Engineering at Mega Hertz. “Many view this as a crucial intermediate phase before a complete fiber deployment, as HFC upgrades can be finished at a fraction of the expense and duration needed for a fiber overbuild. These sophisticated technologies also deliver operational efficiencies and remote functionalities that simplify HFC network operation and maintenance. Our function is to streamline modernization—from integration to deployment—so providers like Home Telecom can convert new technology into tangible operational improvements.”

“Home Telecom is an operator that maintains daily community connections, where reliability and operational effectiveness are as vital as increased bandwidth and speeds,” said Steve Condra, Senior Vice President of North America Sales for Teleste. “Using our ICON platform, transponder-based telemetry, and modern management tools like Argus, operators can simplify field tasks, enhance network transparency, and function more proactively while staying prepared for subsequent network development stages. It is a key instrument to reduce customer turnover, boost reliability, and lower operational expenses.”
