RAVENNA, Ohio, March 11, 2025 — Portage Community Bank (PCB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Portage Bancshares, Inc. (PBI), is pleased to announce that James V. Hauch has been appointed to PCB’s Board of Directors. With his extensive experience in law, accounting, and real estate, Mr. Hauch will bring valuable knowledge to the organization. His appointment was effective as of January 1, 2025.

Mr. Hauch earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Criminal Justice and Accounting from Kent State University. He continued his studies at Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where he obtained a Juris Doctor degree. His academic background, combined with his professional experience, makes him a well-qualified leader.

Mr. Hauch is involved in several organizations, including his current role as a board member of the Ohio Manufactured Homes Association, a member of the Ohio Bar Association, and a member of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. He also previously served on the advisory council of the Ohio Department of Commerce.

As the owner of STV Ohio, Mr. Hauch oversees the management and operations of thirteen manufactured housing communities, three storage unit facilities, a commercial office, and numerous rental properties in Ohio. He possesses considerable expertise in property management, affordable housing, and community development. His success as a business owner demonstrates his understanding of the financial needs of individuals and businesses within the community.
