The UAE SWAT Challenge 2026 kicked off earlier in the day in a vibrant and competitive setting, attracting elite tactical police units from around the globe. The championship includes five specialized challenges and has a total prize fund of USD 260,000, with daily awards for leading teams as well as overall prizes at the end.

On an inspection tour, Lt Gen Al Marri examined the competition grounds and related activities, such as the “Your Security Is Our Happiness” exhibition showcasing Dubai Police’s community programs. He also toured the Media Centre, which manages live broadcasts and daily news reporting, and the on-site medical facilities for the teams.

Lt Gen Al Marri extended a welcome to all competitors and emphasized the UAE SWAT Challenge’s increasing global recognition, citing the previous event’s Guinness World Record for the most countries ever represented in a tactical team championship.

The challenge, which runs until Wednesday, will proceed with the Hostage Rescue Challenge, then the Officer Rescue Challenge, Tower Challenge, and will finish with the Obstacle Challenge. All events are streamed live in Arabic and English on the challenge’s official platforms.

Beyond the contests, the event provides a dynamic and family-oriented atmosphere with partner exhibitions and diverse food options. It is open to the public for its entire five-day schedule, allowing guests to experience the action live and cheer for their national teams.
