(SeaPRwire) –   Created by PS21, the initiative repurposes the brand’s famous signage as a rotisserie to promote its inaugural fried chicken kebab offering.

Running from March 24 to 30 at select KFC restaurants in Spain, the promotion also features an audiovisual component from Oriental Films, with 20-, 10-, and 6-second cuts airing on TV, digital, cinema, and outdoor platforms, backed by a media plan from Arena Media.

MADRID, March 30, 2026 — KFC is making its debut in the Spanish kebab market, utilizing its classic restaurant signage as the primary promotional tool. The PS21-developed campaign converts the brand’s iconic totem poles into large-scale kebab rotisseries, capitalizing on the visual resemblance between the totem and a conventional meat skewer. This comparison links two typically unrelated concepts, instantly communicating that KFC now offers kebabs. This out-of-home (OOH) initiative is the focal point of the product launch.

As a key element of the campaign, a number of KFC restaurants—including some of its top-performing Spanish outlets—underwent a transformation via a custom engineering project that converted their totems into full-sized kebab rotisseries. Each installation consists of a massive 12-meter-high, 1,200-kilogram rotisserie, constructed from iron and finished with polyurethane foam to create a highly realistic texture that mimics KFC’s signature breaded chicken. The setup incorporates specially designed bearings that enable the döner to spin continuously, producing an eye-catching display that encourages customers to visit the restaurant and see it for themselves.

To complement this activation, KFC produced an audiovisual campaign with Oriental Films, which includes a primary 20-second advertisement plus 10-second and 6-second edits, distributed across TV, digital, cinema, and outdoor media. The commercial begins with a tight shot of a staff member holding the new fried chicken kebab. The view then widens to show the employee positioned 12 meters high on a totem, which spins like a classic kebab spit. From this vantage point, the worker declares the launch: “At KFC… we’ve launched… a fried chicken kebab!”

The media plan, crafted by Arena Media, enhances the creative concept using a multi-channel strategy with a significant out-of-home (OOH) component. The campaign has repurposed urban features, like columns, into high-visibility formats to present KFC’s rotisserie in a unique manner, supplemented by digital advertising in nightlife districts to increase exposure and generate new dining opportunities.

The launch is completed with a limited-time menu that includes kebab, dürüm, falafel, and fries with kebab sauce, all featuring design elements inspired by the aesthetic of local kebab shops, allowing consumers to quickly identify this worldwide food trend. The items are offered for a limited period at KFC restaurants throughout Spain, and are also available for order via the KFC app and website.
