- Kia’s EV9 earned “Best EV of the Year,” and the Sorento received “Best SUV of the Year.”
- These wins mark the third consecutive year Kia SUVs have been recognized among the top vehicles for Hispanic consumers.
IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 6, 2024 — Kia America’s popular EV9 and Sorento SUVs were selected as top vehicles for Hispanics by the Hispanic Motor Press. Presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the awards were determined by over 20 Hispanic automotive journalists, influencers, and creators. The Kia EV9 won “Best EV of the Year,” while the Kia Sorento and Kia Sorento Hybrid shared the “Best SUV of the Year” title. The winning vehicles showcase Kia’s advancements in technology, safety, infotainment, and overall value.
“Kia America is honored to be recognized again by the Hispanic Motor Press for the EV9, Sorento, and Sorento Hybrid,” said Steven Center, COO & EVP, Kia America. “The EV9 is perfect for larger families seeking a three-row electric vehicle; the Sorento provides comfort, practicality, and technology—available with gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains—making both ideal for today’s discerning Hispanic consumers.”
The Hispanic Motor Press jury assessed vehicles based on design, comfort, safety, economy, handling, performance, functionality, infotainment, interior design, environmental impact, driver satisfaction, and price, prioritizing Hispanic consumer preferences.
“The Kia EV9 and Sorento are top SUV choices for Hispanic families, offering comfort, technology, and gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrain options for the Sorento,” said Ricardo Rodriguez-Long, Founder and Director of Hispanic Motor Press. “With the industry’s shift to electric vehicles, the Kia EV9 provides comfort, space, and connectivity for a smooth transition.”
