(SeaPRwire) – Next-Generation Analyzer Delivers Improved Sensitivity with Proven Marine Chemistry Methods
WESTBOROUGH, Mass., March 23, 2026 — KPM Analytics has launched enhanced seawater nutrient analysis features for its next-generation NexaFlo® Continuous Flow Analyzer. This upgrade offers marine labs greater sensitivity and more flexible analysis options in advance of the Analytica 2026 event in Munich, Germany.
Analyzing nutrients in seawater is crucial for assessing ocean productivity, monitoring ecosystem well-being, and aiding environmental and regulatory initiatives. The analytical difficulties are considerable: seawater has high levels of major ions, but key nutrients like nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, silicate, and ammonium exist in very low amounts, especially in open-ocean and deep-sea settings. Accurately measuring these trace nutrients demands stable baselines, exact reagent management, and equipment that can achieve low detection limits with reliable signal quality.
The NexaFlo® platform, KPM Analytics’ latest continuous flow analyzer, meets these needs with advanced electronics and refined signal processing that lower background noise and enhance measurement consistency. For marine nutrient testing, NexaFlo® provides two to three times better performance than the prior Futura platform, allowing labs to measure extremely low nutrient levels with increased certainty.
A key benefit of NexaFlo® is its ability to work with the wide range of analytical manifolds created for the Futura platform. Labs can keep using their trusted chemical procedures and approved methods while gaining from the enhanced capabilities of the new system design. The analyzer accommodates established Grasshoff chemistries for nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, and silicate testing, plus fluorometric techniques for detecting very low ammonium concentrations.
To make adoption easier for marine laboratories, KPM Analytics is also releasing a specialized bundle of eight seawater analysis manifolds for the most frequent nutrient tests (Nitrates, Nitrites, Silicates, Phosphates, Ammonia with fluorescence, Ammonia with phenol, Total Phosphorus, Total Nitrogen). This bundled setup offers a turnkey solution for oceanographic research centers, government monitoring agencies, and commercial labs conducting regular seawater analysis.
KPM Analytics possesses decades of expertise in supporting nutrient analysis for environmental and marine laboratories across the globe. The NexaFlo® platform advances the company’s established continuous flow technology, offering higher sensitivity and updated instrumentation for challenging marine uses.
