SAN DIEGO, May 6, 2025 — The national food poisoning law firm , in conjunction with The Gomez Trial Attorneys, has today filed the initial Salmonella lawsuit against Aladdin Mediterranean Café in San Diego County, California.

Today, the first Aladdin Mediterranean Café Salmonella Lawsuit was filed in San Diego County, California, following an outbreak of salmonella that has sickened at least 14 people, sending at least 5 to the hospital. In recent years, it is believed that Aladdin Mediterranean Café has received numerous violations for failing to properly control and regulate food holding temperatures.

A copy of the legal complaint is available if requested.

The lawsuit represents Daniel Meza and Nubia Munguia, who shared a lamb and chicken dish, along with other items, at Aladdin Mediterranean Café on April 26, 2025. Within a few days, both experienced diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and dehydration. They were compelled to seek medical care, with Ms. Munguia requiring a hospital stay. Salmonella was confirmed in both individuals, and they are still recovering from the effects of the food poisoning.

This legal action follows an announcement from the San Diego County Public Health Department, linking at least 14 confirmed cases of illness, including five hospitalizations, to food consumption at Aladdin Mediterranean Café in San Diego. Currently, it is believed that most affected individuals ate at the restaurant on either April 25th or 26th of this year.

While the specific food items contaminated with salmonella haven’t been determined, Aladdin Mediterranean Café has received at least seven citations in the past for not adequately maintaining or controlling food holding temperatures.

According to Ron Simon, the representing Mr. Meza and Ms. Munguia, as well as other Salmonella victims:

“Salmonella can pose a significant health risk to people. Anyone who ate at Aladdin Mediterranean Café during the last week of April 2025 and is experiencing symptoms of a Salmonella infection should seek medical attention immediately.”

He further stated: “Through this lawsuit and others, we intend to ensure that all victims of this outbreak receive fair and full compensation for their injuries, and that Aladdin Mediterranean Café implements measures to prevent future occurrences.”
