The award recognizes the panel for its significant contribution to redefining the gaming display landscape and driving market differentiation.

The “Display of the Year” award is SID’s most esteemed accolade, presented to the most innovative display product introduced in the preceding year that is poised to shape the future of the industry.

This recognition highlights LG Display’s commitment to a new, user-centric display paradigm. The panel’s key innovation is the company’s proprietary DFR technology, which empowers users to select the optimal mode for their specific gaming preferences.

The high-refresh-rate mode is particularly advantageous for game genres demanding swift screen transitions and split-second decision-making, such as first-person shooters and racing games. By achieving an industry-leading 720Hz refresh rate at HD resolution, this mode effectively eliminates ghosting and motion blur, even in the most fast-paced sequences, thereby delivering superior gaming performance.

For games featuring visually stunning graphics, the high-resolution mode offers an enhanced visual experience. It provides QHD resolution concurrently with a 540Hz refresh rate. To address the common challenge of picture quality degradation when refresh rates exceed 500Hz, LG Display implemented a proprietary algorithm, successfully balancing both high refresh rates and high picture quality.

Consequently, the panel has earned ClearMR 21000 certification, the highest rating awarded by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA).
