BOSTON, Jan. 2, 2026 — MarathonLS today announced the strategic separation of its operations into two standalone companies, Marathon LS LLC and Pacer Global LLC. Both entities will remain privately owned by Marathon Global Holdings, effective January 1, 2026. This move is driven by the sustained expansion of both business units and a mutual dedication to delivering increased focus, specialized services, and enhanced value to clients in the life sciences sector.

In recent years, the business segments within MarathonLS have grown along two separate paths: on-site laboratory equipment services and product-centric support for laboratory operations. With client demands growing more specialized in each domain, leadership concluded that independent operations would empower each segment to refine their services, make more targeted investments in their specific markets, and provide a superior client experience.

Within the new framework, each company will concentrate on and bolster its primary strengths:

  • MarathonLS will keep offering its comprehensive range of laboratory equipment services, such as preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, decontamination, and relocation. By honing its focus on equipment performance and lifecycle support, clients can expect quicker response times, more profound technical knowledge, and more anticipatory service initiatives.
  • Pacer will function as an independent entity concentrating on inventory management, consumables distribution, and bioprocessing single-use solutions, backed by specialized teams and a broader operational presence. Pacer’s dedicated operational approach will provide clients with stronger supply chain dependability, better inventory transparency, and more customized solutions for single-use and consumable products.

Although separating, the two firms will preserve a tight partnership via common ownership, continued cooperation, and shared core principles focused on communication, speed, flexibility, and a steadfast devotion to the customer experience.

“This strategic shift positions both organizations to more effectively cater to their specific markets while preserving the solid groundwork that has fueled our growth,” stated Rob MacDougall, CEO of Marathon Global Holdings. “Functioning independently allows us to amplify our specialized knowledge, reinforce client support, and channel investments into solutions that address the changing requirements of the life sciences field.”

Both companies anticipate maintaining their support for partners with the consistent dependability, quickness, and customer-centric philosophy that have characterized their efforts so far.
