(SeaPRwire) – TORONTO, March 27, 2026 – The Novotel Toronto North York and the Delta Hotels Toronto Mississauga could face Unifor picket lines within the week if the employer does not present a fair wage offer to Local 112 members.
“Unifor members are the backbone of these two businesses,” stated Unifor National President Lana Payne. “A fair contract that helps keep pace with inflation and the rising cost of living is not an unreasonable request.”
Both properties, owned by Vrancor Group, are likely to initiate job action simultaneously if negotiations do not result in a tentative agreement this weekend. Unifor members have identified the employer’s insufficient wage proposal as the primary obstacle to resolving the negotiations.
“A disruption for customers is entirely avoidable if the employer is committed to treating workers with respect and fairness,” said Unifor Ontario Regional Director Samia Hashi. “However, make no mistake, Unifor members are prepared to strike to achieve a contract that meets their fundamental needs.”
Unifor is Canada’s largest private sector union, representing 320,000 workers across all major economic sectors. The union champions the rights of all working people, advocates for equality and social justice both in Canada and internationally, and endeavors to drive progressive change for a better future.
