Ad Populum Affiliate Secured Intellectual Property in Winning Bid

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Feb. 7, 2025 — Party City Holdco Inc. (“PCHI” or the “Company”) today announced the successful completion of auctions for substantially all its intellectual property, related wholesale operating intangible assets, and a significant portion of its real estate lease portfolio. These value-maximization efforts will generate significant proceeds for stakeholders involved in the Company’s Chapter 11 proceedings.

Following competitive bidding, New Amscan PC, LLC, an Ad Populum, LLC affiliate, won the bid for the Party City brand and related Amscan operating assets. New Amscan’s winning bid, totaling $20 million (net value) – comprising $16 million in cash and other considerations – doubled its initial “stalking horse” bid. As previously stated, Ad Populum plans to lead a Party City and Amscan brand revitalization, leveraging its sourcing and distribution expertise to build on PCHI’s legacy within the multibillion-dollar party supply market.

The lease auction yielded approximately $14.5 million in gross proceeds, with potential for further gains. The process of monetizing remaining leases is ongoing; interested parties can find details on available properties at [link removed for brevity].
