SHANGHAI, December 18, 2024 — Perfect World Esports (PWE)’s Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 concluded on December 15, 2024 with Team Spirit’s victory over FaZe Clan. Team Spirit secured their first Major championship, and Danil Kryshkovets (“donk”) achieved the distinction of being the youngest Major champion and MVP.

Showcasing Esports and Chinese Culture
Perfect World Co., Ltd. CEO, Sam Gu, noted two years of preparation, aiming for a globally recognized tournament incorporating Chinese culture and Shanghai’s appeal.
Gu emphasized the significant digital consumption potential of international esports events, viewing them as key components of immersive experiences fulfilling young people’s cultural and spiritual needs, while also boosting local tourism, urban development, cultural exchange, and technological advancement.
The tournament successfully integrated esports and intangible cultural heritage, showcasing performances like the Hua Lian (Painted Face) CS music kit—the first in Chinese—and Ay Hei, the first in a Chinese minority language, during the semifinals.

Following the successful conclusion of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, Perfect World Esports announced the CS Asia Championships (CAC 2025). This event will feature 16 teams competing in China, having qualified through regional online events across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
