NEW YORK, March 16, 2026 — Following the 98th Academy Awards, Rose Byrne appeared in Desert diamonds at the 31st Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Featured on red carpets throughout 2026, Desert diamonds—ranging from sun-drenched whites to rich deep browns—are establishing themselves as the latest classics.
Byrne, who received a Best Actress nomination for her performance in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, selected Nikos Koulis Desert diamond earrings for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. These custom pieces from Koulis’s ME collection feature 16.18 carats of oval-shaped fancy brown-yellow diamonds and 5.07 carats of pear-shaped white diamonds, set in a distinctive rhodium-finished 18k white gold. Additionally, Byrne wore the brand’s Oui ring, which includes a 5.01ct VS1 slightly tinted white round diamond and 2.44ct of baguette diamonds with black enamel in an 18K white gold setting.
Designer Nikos Koulis remarked, “Desert diamonds possess an alluring charm and a warm presence—I am captivated by their glow and the way they radiate light. I have utilized yellow and brown diamonds for many years, particularly in high jewelry. I am very selective about the specific shades I choose, ensuring they have a balanced, harmonious color, and I carefully pair them with other stones to highlight their natural elegance.”
“In these unique ME collection earrings, I am fascinated by the combination of structured, linear forms and the soft brilliance of the diamond cuts. These honey-hued oval Desert diamonds are a perfect match in tone—an intuitive pairing. I positioned them against pear-shaped white diamonds in matte-finished blackened white gold to create a visual contrast that enhances their character.”
“The process of crafting something rare and precious with ideal proportions and flawless skill is a jeweler’s most rewarding task, and I am honored to bring together human craftsmanship and natural wonders. It is a joy to see these earrings, which celebrate beauty and narrative, worn by a remarkable woman I admire.”
Sally Morrison, Natural Diamonds Market Lead at A Diamond Is Forever, stated, “Nikos Koulis is a contemporary master of jewelry design. His innovative use of sharp, Deco-inspired silhouettes contrasted with the gentle warmth of honey Desert diamonds is truly a revelation.”
Desert diamonds showcase natural gems shaped by time and the elements, with each stone reflecting the essence of the land. They establish a distinctive bond between the earth and the wearer.
