Samsung’s Visual Display leadership offered a deeper glimpse into the firm’s TV innovation roadmap for 2026 and beyond
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2026 — Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. held a Visual Display (VD) Deep Dive session today at CES 2026. Headed by SW Yong, President of Samsung Electronics’ VD Business, the event took place at The Wynn Las Vegas and spotlighted how Samsung is leveraging 20 years of market leadership to reimagine the TV’s role in the connected home. With the global TV market moving into a new era marked by premium demand, bigger screens, and smart experiences, Samsung laid out its strategy for TV’s future.

During the session, Samsung stressed its focus on boosting TV capabilities via next-gen AI while maintaining top-tier picture quality. 2026 will be a key year for the VD division: Micro RGB and OLED will head the premium TV segment, mini LED will make premium TV tech more accessible, and ultra-large displays will amplify immersive entertainment at home and elsewhere. This means the full product lineup will bring Samsung’s cutting-edge screen experience to more consumers, while solidifying the firm’s lead in performance and innovation.
“Right now, we’re seeing a shift in how viewers engage with TV—moving from passive watching to active user interaction,” stated President Yong. “As TV evolves, Samsung keeps earning its leadership position each year by building on its legacy of hardware excellence.”
Elevating the TV Experience With Vision AI
Central to Samsung’s 2026 strategy is Vision AI Companion (VAC)—a new smart platform built to make TV more intuitive, conversational, and personalized. Integrated into almost all of Samsung’s TV models, VAC recognizes what viewers are watching, predicts their needs, and displays useful, context-relevant info right on the screen—turning the TV from a passive screen into an active part of daily life.
By weaving AI into its entire ecosystem, Samsung is extending the TV’s purpose beyond just entertainment—enabling tighter smart home integration and more meaningful interactions. This approach mirrors Samsung’s dedication to creating connected experiences that adapt to users, all while preserving the picture quality and reliability that consumers still value most.
Redefining Scale, Design and Lifestyle Innovation
At the session, Hun Lee—Executive Vice President (EVP) of the VD Business—shared more details about Samsung’s new 130-inch Micro RGB TV (an industry-first tech milestone) and the firm’s focus on lifestyle TV innovation.
“As content quality gets better, it’s only natural for users to crave more immersive experiences,” noted EVP Lee. “When designing our products, Samsung prioritizes the real-world experiences enabled by tech like VAC—rather than just focusing on technical specs.”
As Samsung marks 20 straight years as the world’s leading TV brand, the VD Deep Dive sent a clear message: leadership is earned through constant innovation. By merging hardware excellence with smart, connected experiences, Samsung is crafting a future where TVs offer not just top-tier picture quality, but also smarter, more personal, and more meaningful moments for homes globally.
