STOCKHOLM, Nov. 4, 2024 — Skanska has secured a contract with a joint venture of Grosvenor and Mitsui Fudosan UK to construct South Molton, which comprises two new category A office buildings in London, UK. The contract, valued at GBP 197M, or approximately SEK 2.6 billion, will be included in the order bookings for Europe in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Skanska will oversee the construction of two new office buildings that are part of the larger redevelopment of South Molton in Mayfair, London. Spanning 24,800 square meters (267,000 square feet), the project includes the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of two new buildings to provide a total of 13,800 square meters (149,000 square feet) of office space fitted out to category A standards. The project also includes the provision of retail, leisure, food and beverage outlets, as well as the renovation of the Running Horse public house.
The building is aiming for environmental standards BREEAM Outstanding for offices and Design for Performance to achieve a NABERS 5* accreditation. It is also targeting WiredScore Platinum certification.
South Molton is envisioned as an exciting new destination in the heart of London’s West End, where Grosvenor and Mitsui Fudosan UK are transforming two acres of Mayfair into a vibrant new hub for shopping, working, dining, living, and staying.
Construction has commenced and is expected to be completed in July 2027.
