LANSING, Mich. and GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Jan. 9, 2026 — One of Michigan’s top providers of fiber internet and technology solutions for Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs) and planned communities today revealed a strategic partnership with 123NET, a leading provider of fiber internet, colocation and voice services, to extend fiber connectivity from Lansing to Grand Rapids—bolstering Michigan’s fiber infrastructure and getting communities ready for the increasing bandwidth needs of the future.

This partnership is a major multi-million-dollar investment in high-density fiber infrastructure, underscoring both companies’ shared dedication to enhancing Michigan’s fiber network and providing future-proof connectivity across the state.

Alongside the Lansing-to-Grand Rapids expansion, STELLAR is also securing capacity on 123NET’s newly built Southfield-to-Lansing fiber route, which will create varied network paths, more capacity, and better reliability for communities and businesses throughout Michigan.

“Securing an uninterrupted fiber route from Southfield to Grand Rapids is a game-changing moment for STELLAR Broadband,” stated Richard Laing, President and COO of STELLAR Broadband. “We appreciate our partnership with 123NET and the chance it gives STELLAR to enter new Michigan markets. This investment guarantees our customers get unparalleled reliability and ultra-fast connectivity as we keep bringing modern broadband and technology solutions to the communities we serve.”

The Lansing-to-Grand Rapids agreement locks in critical capacity on about 83 miles of newly built, underground high-density optical fiber. When paired with the existing eastern route, the project results in a total network reach of roughly 225 miles. This smooth, high-capacity loop now connects Detroit (Southfield), Lansing, and Grand Rapids, forming a resilient backbone made to link thousands of new residents, communities, and businesses to the digital future.

“This fiber project offers a second, redundant 123NET route between Lansing and Grand Rapids while also reaching communities that previously had no reliable connectivity,” said Chuck Irvin, Chief Revenue Officer at 123NET. “Teaming up with STELLAR benefits both companies, but more importantly, it strengthens Michigan’s connectivity infrastructure and gives more choices to local residents—many of whom were previously underserved or unserved.”

The expanded network allows STELLAR Broadband to offer ultra-fast, multi-Gigabit fiber services to a wider range of Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs), communities, and businesses from Southfield through Lansing to Grand Rapids. This investment solidifies STELLAR Broadband’s position as a key infrastructure partner in Michigan, helping to future-proof communities with the capacity required to support modern work, education, and next-gen smart-home technologies.
