MUNICH, May 9, 2025 — Sungrow, a leading global provider of PV inverters and energy storage systems (ESS), introduced its newest C&I solution—the liquid-cooled ESS PowerStack 255CS and hybrid inverter SH125CX—at Intersolar Europe 2025, drawing attention for its impressive adaptability and effectiveness.

Sungrow C&I DC-coupled Solution with ESS PowerStack 255CS and Hybrid Inverter SH125CX

With increasing support from global policies, the installed capacity for C&I energy storage is projected to hit 46GWh by 2028. Businesses around the world are adopting C&I ESS to decrease energy usage, cut electricity expenses, improve the reliability of power supply, and promote the incorporation of renewable energy. However, the swift energy transition necessitates inventive solutions to address critical issues like unreliable power and grid strain resulting from growing EV charging demands.

PowerStack 255CS: A New Key Addition to the C&I ESS Product Line

At the event, Sungrow is presenting a comprehensive range of products suitable for small, medium, and large C&I applications. Among the notable offerings is Sungrow’s latest liquid-cooled C&I ESS, the PowerStack 255CS. Featuring advanced 314Ah battery cells, it provides flexible power capacities—257kWh (2-hour system) or 514kWh (4-hour system)—along with a round-trip efficiency exceeding 90% and a 20-year lifespan. Fully equipped with PCS, EMS, and BMS, and certified under strict global safety standards like UL9540 and NFPA855/69/68/14, the system guarantees smooth operation across diverse scenarios, including standalone C&I ESS, PV plus ESS, EV chargers plus ESS, and microgrids.

Adaptable DC-coupled PV-plus-Storage Solution

Another highlight is the SH125CX, a remarkably efficient hybrid inverter with a nominal output of 125kW. The SH125CX can be paired with the PowerStack 255CS to create a DC-coupled solution, ideal for medium and large C&I environments. Key features include:

  • Adaptable design: This 125kW hybrid inverter is compatible with all modules on the market, offering a maximum current per MPPT of 40A. It can achieve DC-AC ratios of up to 2.0, essential for the European market. The DC-coupled solution can reduce CAPEX by eliminating certain components of the AC distribution, the PV inverter, or the external energy management system.
  • Scalability: Supports parallel operation of up to 24 units, reaching a maximum AC output of 3MW and an ESS capacity of 6MWh.
  • Easy retrofitting: The new SH125CX solution is also suitable for retrofitting, enabling a one-step replacement of the PV inverter with a hybrid inverter, instantly converting the system into a power storage hub.
  • Versatile adaptation: The SH125CX features IP66 and C5 anti-corrosion protection, making it resilient in harsh environments. The inverter includes an Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter 3.0 (AFCI 3.0) function, which detects DC-side arc faults across cable lengths of up to 450 meters, ensuring maximum safety.

Sungrow’s C&I energy storage products have been used in over 1,000 projects worldwide, serving various industries, including metallurgy, automotive, and textiles. These solutions are widely used across Europe—in countries like Spain, the Benelux region, and Italy—and in other regions, including Australia, Japan, the Middle East, and South Africa.

“The C&I market is a key strategic area for us. With an expanded product range designed to meet diverse needs, we are committed to continuous innovation—both in our technology and our local presence,” said Meng Yang, Vice President of Sungrow Europe, responsible for Distribution. “We aim to build stronger partnerships and promote a lower-carbon future throughout Europe,” she added.
