(SeaPRwire) – HEFEI, China, March 26, 2026 — Sungrow announced that its SHT line of residential hybrid inverters has been awarded the VDE-AR-N 4105:2026 certification by TÜV Rheinland, becoming the first product worldwide to comply with Germany’s latest low-voltage grid connection standard.

The updated VDE-AR-N 4105:2026 standard, issued by the Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE), officially went into effect on March 1, 2026. Within less than three weeks of the standard’s implementation, Sungrow successfully completed all mandatory testing and obtained certification, demonstrating the company’s strong technical preparedness and execution capabilities.
As a core requirement for grid connection in Germany, the VDE-AR-N 4105 is widely recognized for its strict technical criteria and considerable influence on the European residential energy market. Compared to the prior version, the updated standard expands its applicable power range and introduces more demanding technical requirements, especially for inverter operation under increasingly complex grid conditions.
During the certification process, TÜV Rheinland carried out comprehensive testing on the SHT series inverter. The product successfully satisfied all requirements across key testing areas, including:
- PAV, E monitoring (feed-in limitation)
- Reactive power supply
- Network and system protection
According to Sungrow’s technical team, the SHT series had already integrated most of the new standard’s requirements before the standard’s official release, with only minor adjustments required for specific parameters. As a result, the certification process primarily validated existing product capabilities rather than necessitating a full redesign, highlighting the company’s forward-looking R&D strategy.
With the rapid expansion of distributed energy resources across Europe and the globe, grid systems are facing growing pressure and rising operational complexity. This shift places higher demands on inverters for power regulation, dynamic response, and grid support. Drawing on early insight into these industry trends, Sungrow set elevated performance targets during the SHT series design phase, allowing the company to complete new standard certification quickly and secure a first-mover advantage.
From an industry perspective, achieving certification at such an early stage not only confirms the product is already ready for the updated requirements but also provides a practical reference for the rollout of the new standard across the sector.
Dr. Philip Yu, Principal Engineer of Sungrow Residential BU, stated: “To date, our SHT hybrid inverter series has reached over 1 GW of cumulative global shipments, serving nearly 80,000 households and businesses across Europe, Asia, and other markets worldwide. Sungrow will continue to advance technological innovation in grid integration and upgrade product capabilities to meet higher standards, to satisfy increasingly stringent grid requirements, and enable more reliable and resilient energy systems.”
