TORONTO, May 5, 2025 – Therme Canada’s project team is expanding with the addition of Adam Vaughan as Senior Advisor. Vaughan is a well-known figure in public policy, bringing extensive public service experience and a long-standing commitment to the city’s waterfront.
“We are excited to welcome Adam Vaughan to Therme Canada,” stated Gavin Thompson, Vice-President, Corporate Affairs for Therme Canada. “Adam’s leadership skills and deep connection to Toronto’s waterfront make him an ideal fit for our growing team. We are focused on realizing our vision of transforming Ontario Place’s West Island into a year-round destination promoting fun, wellbeing, and community.”
Vaughan will contribute to the Therme Canada | Ontario Place project, a unique wellbeing destination planned for Toronto’s waterfront. The project aims to provide a transformative, year-round wellbeing experience for all ages, including approximately 16 acres of public waterfront parkland.
“I have always loved Lake Ontario and dedicated much of my life to creating a clean, green waterfront for people to enjoy,” said Adam Vaughan, Senior Advisor, Therme Canada. “Ontario Place was once a vibrant attraction, and I am enthusiastic about Therme’s vision for the site. I look forward to delivering new parkland, swimming areas, and an accessible urban oasis for the city that is open to everyone.”
Vaughan was a Member of Parliament for Trinity-Spadina and Spadina–Fort York from 2014 to 2021, serving as Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister and to the Ministers responsible for Families, Children, and Social Development. Before entering federal politics, Vaughan served two terms on Toronto City Council, concentrating on planning and housing policy. Prior to that, Adam worked for 25 years as a political reporter with CBC, Citytv, and CP24.
Vaughan is also a published author and cartoonist, and he has taught and lectured at the University of Toronto’s School for Cities.
