CHICAGO, May 23, 2025 — United Airlines and the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA have come to an understanding on a new agreement. If approved, the agreement would provide United’s 28,000 flight attendants with leading pay and several other improvements.

The final wording of the contract will be completed in the next few days. The AFA’s Master Executive Council, which includes all Local Presidents, must then approve the agreement. If they give their approval, the flight attendants will then vote to ratify the tentative agreement.

If the agreement is ratified, flight attendants would not only receive top-of-the-industry wages, but also a signing bonus and numerous improvements to their schedules and quality of life. The new contract would be open for amendment in five years.

“Our flight attendants are the best in the business and deserve a contract that leads the industry,” stated United CEO Scott Kirby. “I often say that they represent our airline and that their daily role in ensuring safety and providing excellent service is what makes United the biggest and best airline in aviation history.”

United expresses its gratitude to both negotiating teams and the National Mediation Board for their efforts in reaching this agreement.
