TAIPEI, Jan. 30, 2026 — GigaMedia Limited (NASDAQ: GIGM) announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Ying-Chih Liao (also known as Kevin Liao) as a new non-independent non-executive director, with effect from January 30, 2026.
Mr. Ying-Chih Liao graduated from National Taiwan University with a Bachelor of Laws degree and from Harvard University’s Law School with a Master of Laws degree.
Mr. Liao worked as a practicing attorney at a well – known law firm for many years, specializing in international corporate finance, commercial corporate matters, and mergers and acquisitions. He joined Chailease Holding Co., Ltd. in 2006 as part of the corporate management team and currently serves as the senior executive vice president and chief strategy officer of Chailease Holding Co., Ltd.
The Board of GigaMedia welcomes Mr. Ying-Chih Liao’s joining.
Following Mr. Liao’s appointment, GigaMedia’s Board consists of seven members, with more than half being independent directors.
