American Woman, 37, Missing After Jet Skiing Incident in Thailand: Report

A 37-year-old American woman is missing after a jet ski outing near Phuket, Thailand, on Thursday.

Nina Ng was reported missing when she didn’t return her rented jet ski on time, according to Saranuwat Nasok, the rental operator, who spoke with Asia Pacific Press.

Nasok stated, “I found the jet ski parked less than a kilometer from the beach. Her belongings and life jacket were on it. We searched for about an hour but couldn’t find her.”

Ng, a New York City native, is reportedly a Chinese-American nurse and founder/president of Help Me Live USA, a humanitarian organization focused on areas like the Gaza Strip, according to its website. Her Instagram account reportedly features recent posts from Lebanon and Jordan.

The reason for Ng’s disappearance off Patong Beach is currently unknown.

“I asked a boat driver who said he saw the tourist take off her life jacket and jump into the water,” Nasok told Asia Pacific Press.

Video from the scene reportedly shows first responders searching for Ng at the beach.

Help Me Live USA and the U.S. Embassy have not yet commented, according to Digital.

Local authorities have notified the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok about Ng’s disappearance, Asia Pacific Press reports.

Help Me Live USA stated that Ng has worked for over 15 years as an emergency medicine registered nurse, hospital administrator, and humanitarian leader, including in conflict zones like Haiti, Iraq, Bangladesh, Mexico, Ukraine, Sierra Leone, and Gaza.

The organization added that Ng left her U.S. hospital job several years ago to dedicate more time to humanitarian work and founded Help Me Live USA in 2023 because of her passion to help underserved populations.

Help Me Live USA also said that Ng is currently a nomad living in different parts of the world between assignments and has a great love for children, nature, and animals.
