Despite Reported Rejection, Trump Still Open to Kim Jong Un Talks

The White House stated on Wednesday that the President is still open to discussions with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, despite reports of a rejection.

North Korean media reported on Wednesday that Kim refused to accept at least one letter from Trump. The two leaders purportedly exchanged letters, including “love” letters, during Trump’s first term.

The White House did not confirm to Digital if Kim had snubbed Trump’s latest letter. Instead, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that “the president remains receptive to correspondence with Kim Jong Un.”

Levitt noted Trump’s desire to build upon the progress made with Kim in Singapore in 2018 during his initial term.

“Regarding specific correspondence, I’ll defer to the president for comment,” she added.
