Dismembered bodies of about a dozen missing students discovered near Mexican highway after vacation disappearance.

Local news sources indicate that the dismembered remains of approximately a dozen individuals, believed to be students who disappeared while on vacation, were discovered near a highway on Sunday.

Reports from and state that the body parts of at least nine people were found in and around an abandoned vehicle concealed by a blood-soaked tarp.

A bag containing eight pairs of hands was also discovered at the scene.

was reportedly located in San José Miahuatlán, which lies on the border between Puebla and Oaxaca, according to El Financiero.

Periodico Central reported that footage from Feb. 24 shows the vehicle traveling on the Atlixcayotl highway, roughly 90 miles west of the location where the bodies were found.

El Financiero claims the bodies showed signs of bullet wounds and “torture.”

During a press conference on Monday, Idamis Pastor Betancourt, the head of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), stated that he could not identify the bodies “due to confidentiality.”

However, Periodico Central reported that identification cards matching Angie Lizeth P.G., 29, and Leslie N.T., 21, were found at the scene.

These individuals are believed to be Angie Lizeth Perez Garcia and Lesly Noya Trejo, according to various news outlets.

Local reports indicate that others missing include Brenda Mariel N., Jacqueline Ailet N., Noemi Yamileth N., Raul Emmanuel N., Rubén Antonio N., and Rolando Armando N. One individual remains unidentified.

The Puebla State Attorney General’s Office was unavailable for comment.

The Mexican did not immediately respond to Digital’s request for further details.
