G7 Summit Ends Without Consensus on Key Global Conflicts Following Trump’s Early Exit

Despite U.S. President Donald Trump’s early departure, the G7 summit in Canada concluded without significant breakthroughs on key issues such as the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Iran conflict, according to reports.

The G7, comprising France, the U.S., the U.K., Germany, Japan, Italy, Canada, and the European Union, did release a statement addressing the Israel-Iran situation.

In Monday’s statement, G7 leaders affirmed ‘s right to self-defense, labeled Iran “the principal source of regional instability and terror,” and insisted that Iran “can never possess nuclear weapons.”

“We call for the resolution of the Iranian crisis to lead to a broader de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza,” the report states. “We will remain alert to the implications for international energy markets and stand ready to coordinate with like-minded partners to ensure market stability.”

press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated in a Monday evening tweet that “President Trump had a productive day at the G7, including signing a major trade agreement with the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Keir Starmer. While much was accomplished, President Trump will be leaving tonight after dinner with Heads of State due to developments in the Middle East.”

World leaders met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday, with U.S. Treasury Secretary also present, as shown in photos.

“Addressing the G7 Summit, I emphasized that Russia is ignoring all diplomatic efforts by the international community. Diplomacy is in crisis due to Putin’s open rejection of every peace initiative,” Zelenskyy said in a Tuesday on X, initiating a detailed thread.

The Ukrainian president urged countries to continue pressing Trump to use his influence to “force” Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war.

“It’s crucial to secure $40 billion annually in budgetary support for Ukraine to ensure our resilience and ability to function as a country. This should be a joint decision by G7 leaders, including the U.S.,” Zelenskyy added in the thread.

“Together, we must continue urging President Trump to use his considerable influence to force Putin to end this war. The U.S. and President Trump proposed a ceasefire, the resumption of diplomacy, and immediate meetings and negotiations. However, Russia has blocked every effort,” he asserted in another

In a Wednesday statement to Digital, White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly stated, “As President Trump has repeatedly demonstrated, he is willing to collaborate with anyone to advance American interests and enhance global safety. Countries worldwide look to President Trump for leadership.”
