A warning has been issued that Iran, ISIS, and other jihadist groups are still intent on targeting Jewish people globally, with senior intelligence officials raising concerns about a significant increase in terrorism worldwide.

Addressing the public shortly after the Hanukkah attack in Australia, Mossad chief David Barnea stated that Israel’s intelligence service would track down “those who dispatched the perpetrators no matter where they escape, and we will make them answer for their actions,” noting that “justice will be served and be visible to all.”

Barnea indicated that the Sydney incident illustrates a wider and persistent danger. “The criminal concept of terrorism aimed at innocent civilians has been and continues to be a fundamental element of the current Iranian regime’s security doctrine,” he remarked. He cautioned that “jihadist factions, ISIS and similar groups, have also decided to target every Jewish person worldwide.”

“We extend our deepest sympathies to the families of those killed in Australia,” Barnea expressed. He noted that such assaults aim to shatter Jewish resolve, but emphasized, “Our spirit will remain unbroken. We will persist in observing our traditions and living our lives both in Israel and across the globe.”

These statements were made as Australian and global authorities continue their probe into the Bondi Beach assault that left 15 dead and many others injured. According to Australian authorities, the attackers were motivated by Islamic State ideology, and DIY ISIS flags were discovered in their car.

The incident has also intensified demands in Washington for a more aggressive counterterrorism stance. Representative Andy Barr (R-Ky.) told Digital, “We must maintain an offensive approach and never revert to ineffective policies. Under President Trump, America’s power has been restored, and terrorists are aware of it.
