Following a series of initial strikes, a senior Israeli intelligence figure told on Saturday that Iran should expect further “surprises.”
The high-ranking source informed Chief Foreign Correspondent Trey Yingst that Israeli intelligence predicts Iran will possess an arsenal of 8,000 ballistic missiles within the next two years. This projection, the source said, contributed to the decision to initiate the operation. Currently, Israel estimates Iran holds approximately 2,000 missiles.
“We cannot conclude this operation knowing we will be in the same vulnerable position in two years,” the official stated. “Everything is proceeding as planned, or even better.”
The official reiterated, “We have many surprises in store, beyond those already executed. More are coming.”
According to the official, the operation, which aims to target Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs and eliminate the Iranian threat, has resulted in the destruction of forty Iranian air defense systems.
During the targeting an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) air force officials’ meeting, Israeli intelligence believes 30 commanders were killed.
“It’s a landmark achievement,” the official declared.
Israel anticipates further missile attacks from Iran in the coming days, which are expected to cause casualties and destruction.
However, the main part of the is expected to conclude within days.
“I believe we can conclude it in a matter of days… It’s reassuring to have the U.S. on our side,” the official commented.
The official also revealed to that the U.S. is “fully coordinated” with Israel, though declined to provide specific details.
“The U.S.’s support for Israel is unprecedented,” he added. “We feel it strongly.”
