Trump Holds ‘Leverage’ to Cease Sudan Killings, Yale Researchers State, As Satellite Imagery Exposes Widespread Deaths

Recent satellite imagery indicates what appear to be bloodstains on sand and scattered bodies throughout El Fasher, North Darfur, Sudan, amidst claims of extensive killings by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the conflict-ridden area.

On Tuesday, Yale University’s Humanitarian Research Lab (HRL) released these images after ceasefire negotiations for the nation faltered in Washington and following the RSF’s entry into El Fasher on Sunday.

“Yale HRL identified evidence aligning with systematic mass killings of individuals outside El Fasher along the berm, as observed in satellite imagery gathered on October 27 and 28, 2025,” the report states.

It was also reported Tuesday that U.S. intelligence assessments verified an increase in weapons transfers from the United Arab Emirates to the RSF, including.

“President Trump possesses singular influence to halt the bloodshed immediately by contacting the UAE leadership and compelling them to cease arming the RSF, a measure the Biden administration declined to take,” Yale’s Nathaniel Raymond told Digital.

Raymond stated that his lab “detected a CH-95 drone” in the imagery and confirmed that “the drone we pinpointed was supplied to the RSF by the United Arab Emirates.”

Raymond’s team examined high-resolution images from Airbus DS, verifying the presence of bodies, blood, and incinerated districts in El Fasher, a city that fell after an intense 18-month siege.

Raymond explained that they “initiated this surveillance in 2023 as part of the U.S. State and Sudan Conflict Observatory,” and his team had cautioned the United Nations that the fall of El Fasher would inevitably lead to widespread atrocities.

Since then, the team has spent 18 months independently, producing reports for the U.N. and U.S. officials. “We told them we were approaching a genocide,” Raymond said.

He also mentioned that RSF units “concealed vehicles beneath trees, operated under cover of darkness, and attempted to evade tracking primarily to hide resupply operations.”

Raymond further detailed imagery depicting “ground objects consistent with human bodies, measuring approximately 1.3 to 2 meters [3 to 6 feet] in length.”

The RSF’s seizure of control has resulted in over 2,000 civilian fatalities and left 177,000 people confined by a blockade.

Across the nation, the conflict has killed 150,000 since its inception in 2023.

Late last week, there was optimism that diplomatic efforts could yield a breakthrough, but sources indicated that the United Arab Emirates declined to engage with the El Fasher situation.

An initiative for Sudan was launched in July, which included a ministerial-level meeting with the group known as the “Sudan Quartet.”

Raymond asserted, “It is incumbent upon Trump to leverage the historical Republican leadership in Darfur and directly contact Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, urging him to cease these actions.”

He concluded by stating, “This is the identical plea I intend to present to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee tomorrow.”

Digital has sought comment from the White House.
