Trump to decide on Iran involvement in two weeks, citing potential for negotiations, Leavitt states.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated on Thursday that President Trump will decide in the next two weeks whether the U.S. will engage in the conflict between Israel and Iran.

Leavitt quoted Trump at a White House briefing, saying, “Because there is a real possibility of negotiations with Iran in the near future, which may or may not happen, I will decide whether or not to get involved within the next two weeks.”

“That’s a direct quote from the president for you all today.”

She added, “He has been very clear. Iran waited 60 days after he issued a 60-day warning without engaging in discussions. On the 61st day, Israel retaliated. And as I just conveyed to you directly from the president, he will make a decision within two weeks.”
