(AsiaGameHub) – The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has bolstered its commitment to responsible gaming by enhancing the protective measures available to players in the Great Lakes State.
MGCB Launches Gamban Partnership to Enhance Player Safety
To achieve this, the MGCB has collaborated with Gamban, an anonymous software solution designed to help vulnerable individuals block themselves from gambling platforms.
Through this initiative, Michigan residents can access a Gamban license at no cost, providing protection for up to five years. Henry Williams, the executive director of the MGCB, highlighted the importance of the move:
“Michigan is dedicated to ensuring that as legal gaming grows, so do the protections for our citizens. Our collaboration with Gamban offers a free, effective solution for anyone looking to restrict online gambling access across all their digital devices.”
Gamban functions independently of traditional self-exclusion registries, serving as a versatile prevention tool that the MGCB is now leveraging.
This software represents a significant boost to state-led initiatives aimed at protecting consumers from the potential harms associated with gambling.
The application is compatible with various operating systems, including iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS, allowing users to effectively block a vast array of gambling-related content.
Creating a Substantial Obstacle to Gambling Content
Matt Zarb-Cousin, Gamban’s director of external affairs, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with the MGCB, which provides the Gamban tool for free to those seeking to manage their gaming behavior.
“As individuals take steps to stop gambling, the Gamban app will inform them of available state resources while simultaneously blocking gambling apps and websites. This strategy has successfully boosted recovery and abstinence rates in other regions,” Zarb-Cousin noted.
