(SeaPRwire) – This recognition underscores AESC’s leading role in sustainable battery production.
TOKYO, April 30, 2026 — AESC, a worldwide leader in electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage battery technology, has announced it secured an A- climate change rating from CDP. This was the top score any global lithium battery maker received during the 2025 reporting period.

CDP operates a premier global environmental disclosure platform for corporations. Its evaluations are extensively used by investors, regulators, and customers to assess ESG performance and supply chain criteria. Out of the more than 22,100 companies evaluated in CDP’s 2025 Climate Change cycle, only the top 10% attained an A- rating or better. AESC’s A- score demonstrates the company’s strong and clear carbon management system, alongside its ongoing advancements in reducing the carbon footprint of battery manufacturing.
The company integrates emissions reduction goals into its strategic planning and daily international activities. AESC has developed significant expertise in managing its carbon footprint, adopting renewable energy, and driving industrial decarbonization.
For carbon footprint management, AESC ensures its worldwide operations comply with the EU Battery Regulation and other international standards. The firm has implemented a structured carbon footprint management system, created a company-wide emissions factor database using internationally accepted methods, and collaborated with suppliers to enhance carbon data modeling and management.
In renewable energy and decarbonization, AESC has reached multiple industry firsts. In 2022, it was verified by the Carbon Trust as the first battery manufacturer globally to achieve carbon neutrality for its own operations (Scope 1 and 2). It also introduced the industry’s first carbon-neutral EV battery in 2022 and the first carbon-neutral energy storage battery in 2023. Throughout its international manufacturing facilities, AESC persistently refines processes to decrease energy consumption and emissions via various on-site upgrades. These include improvements to temperature and humidity controls, installing smart sensors on production lines, and reusing waste heat and water to minimize energy loss. Concurrently, the company partners with key suppliers to promote emissions reductions throughout the value chain.

These comprehensive initiatives have enabled AESC to create a viable and expandable model for decarbonizing the worldwide lithium battery sector. The CDP A- rating further solidifies AESC’s status as a sustainability frontrunner as it collaborates with global customers and partners to foster a more sustainable battery ecosystem.
