BEIJING, Dec. 12, 2024 — The 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to China falls on December 20. CCTV4 will commemorate this milestone with a week-long series of special programs, “Prosperity Lights Up Macao”. Originating from a Macao studio, the programming will encompass news reports, live updates, expert analyses, in-depth interviews, and interactive online elements.

A dedicated CCTV4 reporting team will be on location in Macao to cover the anniversary events. Segments such as “Macao into the Future”, “Youth in Macao”, and others will focus on various aspects of the region, including its political, economic, social, cultural, and tourism sectors; its integration within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; and the aspirations of its younger generation in the context of China’s future. A lighter feature, “Macao Citywalk”, presented by twin sisters, will offer a live exploration of Macao’s culinary and artistic landscape.

CCTV4’s social media channels will also contribute special interactive content. “Healthy China: Macao’s Practice” will delve into the effects of the “Healthy Macao Blueprint”, while “Living in Macao” will provide current local updates. The public is encouraged to submit short videos featuring cartoon characters on the theme of “Macao by Numbers”.

Prosperity Lights Up Macao will broadcast daily on CCTV4 from December 14 to 20.
