Cox’s network fuels CES 2026 with high-speed, uninterrupted connectivity throughout Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5, 2026 — Cox Communications remains the driving force behind the world’s most impactful tech event, the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), presented by the Consumer Technology Association from Jan. 6–9, 2026. For over a decade, Cox’s advanced fiber network and managed services have served as the foundation of CES, offering exhibitors, attendees, and organizers strong, secure, and high-speed connectivity across the Las Vegas Convention Center and the entire city.

Antoine Orton, Cox Field Escalation Technician, Hospitality Network, is one of many experts who work to keep CES connected each year.

Why It Matters

Access to high-speed internet enables show participants—including 142,000 attendees in 2025 from over 150 countries, territories, and regions—to share their insights and innovations with a much broader audience than just those present on the show floor.

“Annually, CES establishes the benchmark for technological possibilities. This year, we’ve broadened our fiber reach and strengthened our network capacities to accommodate an even greater number of devices, data, and digital experiences,” said Mark Greatrex, president of Cox Communications. “Our goal is to deliver a fully connected, high-speed environment for every participant.”

Deep Dive: CES Infrastructure

During CES 2025, over 450 terabytes of data traversed the Las Vegas Convention Center’s Wi-Fi network. This record is projected to be broken during this year’s four-day event as exhibitors and attendees utilize AI-driven applications, 8K streaming, and virtual reality. For this year’s show, Cox Hospitality Network is providing:

  • 2,800 Wi-Fi access points, creating a fast, dense, and high-performing Wi-Fi network that spans every part of the exhibition area.
  • 802.11ax Technology, ensuring faster speeds over longer distances and access points capable of supporting a larger number of devices.
  • Distributed Antenna System (DAS), delivering full indoor cellular coverage.
  • 5GHz Wireless, offering faster data rates with reduced interference.
  • High-Capacity Broadband, directly connecting to the convention floor with enough capacity to transmit more than 1.2 gigabytes per second.
  • Redundant, Dedicated Fiber, providing dual 40 gigabit connections to the convention center to help ensure secure, reliable communications.

Expanded Partnership with LVCVA

Building upon its multi-year agreement, the Hospitality Network Advanced Convention Service team delivers outstanding, reliable service with round-the-clock support and customized direct-to-floor solutions that guarantee each customer experience surpasses expectations. Cox Hospitality Network continues to offer wireless and wired telecommunications, DAS services, and managed IT support to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), serving the 4.6 million-square-foot facility’s 2.5 million square feet of exhibition space. Cox’s collaboration with Boingo Wireless ensures robust 5G cellular connectivity across the convention center, while Cox’s on-site teams handle installation, sales, and support for every event.
