The program aims to attract and assist international firms with cutting-edge technologies that can aid Japan in achieving its decarbonization and sustainability objectives. Eatron was among seven companies chosen from a pool of 59 applicants representing 20 countries and regions.

Eatron’s Intelligent Optimization Software for lithium-ion batteries employs AI, physical models, and cloud-edge architecture to enhance battery safety, performance, and lifespan. The software is utilized in various applications, including electric vehicles (EVs), light mobility, commercial vehicles, and energy storage systems (ESS). It provides crucial functions such as accurately estimating battery State of Charge (SoC) and State of Health (SoH), which are essential for ensuring optimal performance and longevity, enabling second-life battery applications, and promoting a circular battery economy.

The new Tokyo office will broaden Eatron’s global reach and strengthen its partnerships with automotive OEMs, battery pack suppliers, Tier 1 companies, and ESS integrators in Japan.

Eatron is actively involved in several global research and industry consortia, focusing on areas like improved battery safety, battery swapping, modular battery system optimization, and fleet-level battery analytics. These technologies seek to enhance cost efficiency and flexibility in electrification strategies.

Eatron’s Tokyo office will also serve as a hub for future local recruitment and collaborations, with plans to expand its technical and commercial operations in Japan over the next five years. Initial hiring will focus on engineering, business development, and customer success roles.

“We appreciate the support from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the review committee,” stated Dr Umut Genc, CEO of Eatron. “Our goal is to offer intelligent, scalable software solutions that support Japan’s ambitions in electrification and sustainable energy.”
