NANJING, China, January 8, 2025 — With a global rise in tourism and #ChinaTravel trending, Jiangsu province, known for its scenic beauty and rich culture, has implemented new tourism policies to enhance the international visitor experience.
Why Jiangsu’s New Tourism Policies Are Necessary
Jiangsu’s tourism sector has seen a significant upswing, fueled by both domestic and international travelers. From January to November 2024, Jiangsu welcomed 2.35 million international visitors—an 81.6% increase from 2023.
This increased popularity necessitates meeting heightened expectations. Following extensive research and tourist feedback, Jiangsu has addressed key challenges with innovative policies ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all international visitors.
The Impact of Jiangsu’s New Tourism Policies
Improving Global Access to Jiangsu
An improved 240-hour visa-free transit policy now allows citizens from 54 countries to explore Jiangsu for up to 10 days without a visa. Simultaneously, Jiangsu’s international flight network to major global cities has expanded and operates efficiently.
Furthermore, access to customized itineraries and multilingual services has been greatly improved. The province offers a wider variety of themed travel routes on online travel agencies (OTAs), catering to diverse preferences. Travel agencies also receive additional support for organizing international tours to Jiangsu.
Simplified Payments, Registration, and Tax Refunds
Many international visitors comment on the ease of travel in Jiangsu. This is due to increased acceptance of bank cards, mobile payment methods, and foreign currencies at major tourist sites, airports, and train stations. Simplified booking and registration processes, accepting passports, residence permits, and other ID documents, ensure easy access to attractions and hotels. A streamlined tax refund system allows for convenient tax-free shopping.
Policy Implementation and Promotion
Jiangsu actively integrates supportive measures into its new policies, maximizing effectiveness in addressing visitor concerns and optimizing the overall travel experience.
