(SeaPRwire) –   MONTREUX, Switzerland, May 7, 2026 — From April 27-28, 2026, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Annual Meeting took place in Montreux, Switzerland. This leading global sustainability forum brought together nearly 600 participants from top companies worldwide to address vital issues such as the 2030 emissions reduction agenda and the circular economy.

Andy Zhou, CEO of Linglong Tire, delivers a presentation at WBCSD

Linglong Tire’s President, Zhou Lingkun, was invited to speak during the “China Sustainable Business Practice” session. He emphasized that, under the global “dual carbon” goals, sustainable development has become an essential requirement for businesses. Linglong has embedded green and low-carbon principles into its core strategy, aiming to establish a comprehensive green ecosystem across its entire industrial chain. The company has established clear carbon neutrality targets: a 52.07% reduction by 2035 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

During the event, Linglong Tire received its official WBCSD membership certificate. As the first tire manufacturer in mainland China to join the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR), Linglong supports FSC-certified natural rubber initiatives to support the livelihoods of rubber farmers, contribute to forest conservation and ensure the rights of workers, indigenous peoples and local communities. In the area of resource recycling, Linglong promotes the use of liquid waste rubber and pyrolysis carbon black to effectively repurpose waste tires and maintain a closed-loop resource cycle.

A major highlight was the unveiling of Linglong’s newly developed tire made from 85% sustainable materials. This tire incorporates over 60% bio-based renewable materials and approximately 25% recycled materials, positioning it as a leader within the Chinese tire industry and among global peers. It utilizes innovative materials such as rice husk ash silica and bio-based rubber to replace traditional petroleum-based components, significantly reducing the product’s carbon footprint from the outset. Notably, it delivers superior performance, meeting the highest ‘A’ grade standards set by the EU Tire Label in key areas including rolling resistance and wet braking.

President Zhou remarked that the 85% sustainable material tire marks only a new beginning. Linglong’s long-term vision is to develop a tire composed entirely of sustainable materials by 2040. Joining WBCSD reflects international recognition of the company’s sustainability achievements, and Linglong intends to actively participate in global dialogues to collaborate on a more sustainable future for mobility.
