
TULSA, Okla., June 5, 2025 — The Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) has given the green light to Public Service Company of Oklahoma’s (PSO) acquisition of the Green Country Power Plant. This facility, located in Jenks, Oklahoma, is a 795 MW natural gas-powered plant. The acquisition is expected to close by July 2025 and will increase PSO’s ability to satisfy the growing energy needs of its customers.
The OCC’s approval signifies progress in PSO’s dedication to providing its customers with affordable and dependable energy while bolstering Oklahoma’s economic growth. Integrating the Green Country Power Plant into PSO’s generation resources will enhance PSO’s capacity to deliver a consistent and reliable power supply to its customers.

The facility’s increased ad valorem tax revenue will directly benefit schools and public services in Tulsa County, as well as promote job creation—further solidifying PSO’s dedication to the communities it supports.
