CAIRO, July 4, 2025 — The “Refreshing Fujian” Culture and Tourism Promotion Event took place in Cairo, Egypt on June 24. Co-organized by the Fujian Provincial Association for International Cultural Exchange, the Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Cairo China Cultural Center, the event featured speeches from Fujian provincial officials, the Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, and representatives of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority. Notable guests present included Egypt’s former Prime Minister, the Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, leaders from the Cairo China Cultural Center and the Egypt-China Friendship Association, and officials from Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. More than 300 attendees participated, encompassing local tourism enterprises, industry associations, cultural institutions, and leading figures from Egypt’s arts sector.

Focused on advancing the “Refreshing Fujian” cultural and tourism brand, the event highlighted the allure of Bamin culture (Fujian’s unique heritage) while thoughtfully blending Chinese and Egyptian traditional elements. The program included thematic presentations, new tourism route announcements, project agreements, and cultural exchange exhibitions. An outdoor exhibition zone provided interactive intangible cultural heritage experiences, tea ceremony demonstrations, and various cultural exhibits.

During the event, agreements were signed for 7 cultural and tourism cooperation projects, including those between Fujian Song and Dance Theatre and National House Technical Theatre, Xiamen International Book Co., Ltd. and the Egypt–China Technology Exchange Center, HyCooby Overseas Chinese Education Platform and Egypt’s Deren Chinese School, and Xiamen C&D International Travel Group Co., Ltd. and Egypt’s Starlight Travel Agency. This initiative aims to significantly enhance cultural and tourism exchanges and collaboration between Fujian and Egypt.

Traditional Chinese art performances were also featured at the ceremony, showcasing Fujian’s cultural heritage and tourism attractions, which were met with enthusiastic audience reception.
