SACRAMENTO, Calif., Feb. 1, 2025 — Reviver proudly acknowledges Black History Month and the journey of its founder, Neville Boston — from developing the world’s first digital license plate to becoming the first Black-founded technology jersey patch partner in the NBA.
This Black History Month highlights African Americans and the intersection of labor with the collective Black experience. For Reviver’s Neville Boston, this month also provides an opportunity for reflection on his entrepreneurial journey building Reviver, and to anticipate future transformative moments.
“When I created Reviver, I didn’t view the RPLATE as a single solution to a specific current problem,” stated Reviver Founder and Chief Strategy Officer Neville Boston. “Our work is transforming the entire car and driver experience, and we’re building a future ecosystem.”
Naturally, being a first-mover presents unique challenges, especially as a Black founder introducing innovation to a heavily regulated industry. Boston tackled these challenges by fostering relationships, seeking guidance from mentors and investors like John W. Thompson, former Microsoft chairman, and Allan Warren, and engaging in open communication with everyone, including consumers and DMV teams.
“Reviver’s foundation is built upon partnerships and relationships with mentors, fellow entrepreneurs and investors, state and local governments, and the community,” Boston explained. “It’s about building trust and creating mutually beneficial outcomes. We’re collectively pushing the limits of solution creation to reflect our diverse communities, and we hope this is just the beginning. Our aim is to inspire change and innovation.”
