MUNICH, Nov. 21, 2024 — Trinasolar, partnering with other industry players, conducted a site visit to a notable agrivoltaics and aquavoltaic project. This 150MW facility integrates aquaculture with solar energy, using Trinasolar’s high-efficiency 210 Vertex series modules. The project, completed in two phases, incorporates Trina Storage’s energy storage solutions, specifically a 27MW/54MWh liquid-cooled battery energy storage system (BESS), the Trina Storage Elementa, in Phase II. Utilizing Trinasolar’s fully integrated solutions, the project showcases advanced solar-storage integration and smart power distribution, establishing a new industry standard.

Situated in a former coal mining area, the project utilizes innovative land management techniques. Its dual approach combines agriculture under solar panels and aquaculture integrated with floating solar installations. The deployment of Trinasolar’s Vertex Series modules effectively lowers the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE), ensuring substantial returns on investment for project partners.

Central to Phase II is Trina Storage’s Elementa energy storage system, featuring a modular design and advanced safety mechanisms designed for renewable energy applications. Elementa integrates Trina’s proprietary battery cells, battery racks, battery management systems (BMS), liquid cooling, and fire suppression systems, optimized for adaptability, straightforward installation, and efficient maintenance.
