– Joint Expertise Driving High-Performance Powertrains –
KYOTO, Japan, Nov. 27, 2024 –ROHM Semiconductor GmbH, a ROHM Co., Ltd. group company and leading Japanese semiconductor/electronic component manufacturer, will supply its 2-in-1 silicon carbide (SiC) molded module, the TRCDRIVE pack (TM), to Valeo S.A., a leading Paris-based automotive technology company, for upcoming powertrain applications. This marks their initial collaborative effort to optimize next-generation power modules for electric motor inverters, leveraging their combined power electronics expertise.
Valeo is expanding access to efficient electrified mobility across diverse vehicle segments, from e-bikes to passenger cars and e-trucks. By integrating Valeo’s mechatronics, thermal management, and software development capabilities with ROHM’s power modules, Valeo is advancing its power electronics solutions, enhancing performance, efficiency, and reducing the carbon footprint of automotive systems globally.
Since 2022, both companies have collaborated on power electronics refinement, focusing on higher energy efficiency, reduced heat through optimized cooling and mechatronic integration, and improved reliability via SiC packaging, aiming for optimal cost-effectiveness.
