Crypto‘s “Big Tent” event has concluded in Toronto, where prominent figures from business, technology, and government convened to discuss the easing of crypto regulations and its increasing acceptance. In 2026, Consensus will take place in Hong Kong in February and Miami in May.

TORONTO, May 16, 2025 — Consensus 2025, recognized as the longest-running and most influential global event for the crypto, blockchain, and AI sectors, wrapped up today at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The event drew 14,771 participants from 102 countries. This three-day conference is the industry’s leading “big tent” gathering, bringing together a diverse range of voices from traditional finance, DeFi, policymaking, and other areas to explore the trajectory of digital assets.

Consensus 2025 featured 500 speakers across six stages, offering attendees valuable perspectives on the crypto environment. Discussions focused on DeFi, real-world assets (RWAs), decentralized AI, stablecoins, crypto adoption, and the changing regulatory landscape, with major players in the crypto space leading the conversations. The event also hosted North America’s largest in-person blockchain hackathon, with over 1,000 developers participating.

Key moments at Consensus Toronto included presentations by industry leaders, financial giants, tech innovators, and representatives from the White House, including Coinbase, BlackRock, and Google. Eric Trump, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of American Bitcoin, participated in two sessions, along with other notable figures such as Kevin O’Leary, chairman of O’Leary Ventures and Shark Tank host; Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports; and Anthony Scaramucci, founder of Skybridge Capital. Toronto was selected as this year’s location because of its status as a financial hub, its high concentration of Canadian crypto leaders, its growing reputation as a center for crypto innovation, and its role as the birthplace of Ethereum.

“Thanks to our friends at Consensus. They do an amazing job,” said Eric Trump regarding the CoinDesk conference, which has been held since 2015.

Consensus 2026 is planned to be held at the iconic Miami Beach Convention Center in May 2026. Miami is regarded as the crypto capital of North America and a gateway to LATAM, positioning the event at a crucial intersection of global capital, talent, and innovation. Prior to that, in February 2026, Consensus will return to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.

Major sponsors of Consensus Toronto included Stellar, American Bitcoin, BitGo, Fastex, Spacecoin, along with tech giants Google and AWS, and Canadian firms like WonderFi, Wealthsimple, and Coinbase Canada.
